Participate in the 57th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women focused on young people

I am inviting you and your organization to participate and help lead online discussions around the 57th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women focused on young people. We are creating an online discussion on the upcoming 57th CSW in March which will be dubbed ‘Youth4CSW’. The idea of this branding is to allow us to track discussions and coordinate communications by different youth groups around the event as well as during International Women’s Day. This initiative is being spearheaded by UNFPA, as a culmination of the successful Y4CARMMA Campaign carried out during the 20th African Union Summit of Heads of State in January this year.

The 57th session of the CSW is ‘Preventing Violence against Women and Girls’ and the International Women’s Day theme is ‘The Gender Agenda Gaining Momentum’. We have developed a general guide regarding key activities that can be carried out on social media before CSW, during CSW and shortly after. You can make use of this guide in picking up some activities you will be able to undertake and adding any others that suit your work. If you already have social media activities planned for the CSW, we encourage that you share these with us so that they form part of the plan.

If you are interested, please respond via email with links to the social media platforms you will use for the campaign. You will also need to give an indication of the kind of activities you are committed to carrying out in line with the activity guide. Once that is done, you will become part of the team and can share weekly updates of the work you manage to do.

We also welcome any suggestions and innovation that can help this campaign be more engaging for young people. Please make all responses to :
