Note: Please contact Miss Julie for any of your concerns. Iam not directly running this programme 🙂 Kind regards…Brian
Thank you so much for joining GYCA and for continuing to be a productive member of our community of young people who care about youth reproductive health rights, HIV/AIDS, and making sure the voices of global youth are heard.
Your dedication to making Uganda youth a part of the health discussion is admirable, and we are asking for your help in broadening that discussion even more. The United Nations and other global actors haven’t heard much from Ugandan youth, and we want to change that.
We are collecting stories, opinions, photos, videos, and input from young Ugandan people about their access to, experiences with, and feelings on reproductive and sexual health rights (like the right to decide how many children to have and when to have them, and when to have sex and with whom), HIV prevention, and any other related topics they have opinions on.
We are currently designing a set of specific questions to ask young people, but in the meantime, we would love your help in asking as many people as possible to contribute. They can join the GYCA network (http://gyca.tigweb.org/getinvolved/) and visit our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/GlobalYouthHIVAIDS. Once we have people signed up, we will contact everyone with a link to the questionnaire. As soon as we start to hear from Ugandan youth, we will post their stories on Facebook and Twitter, and write a report that we plan to present at international conferences all over the world. This is a rare opportunity for young people from Uganda to make their voices heard.
If you or anyone you know has any feelings on these topics, we encourage them to contact us. Please pass on this email to any young people, organizations, or youth groups that you think would have something to say. Remember, this is a chance for YOUR voice to be heard at the UN and internationally—we want the chance to consult with people whose voices haven’t been heard before, and that’s yours!
We look forward to hearing your voice!”
