The 7th Africa Conference on Sexual Health and Rights (ACSHR) is scheduled to take place on 8 – 12 February, 2016 (including two days of Pre-conferences). The Conference is being convened under the auspices of the African Federation for Sexual Health and Rights in collaboration with Curious Minds and Action Health Incorporated with support from Core Conference Partners (UNFPA, IWHC, AWDF and Ford Foundation).
The Conference is under the patronage of the First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Her Excellency Mrs. Lordina Mahama.
Theme: “Realizing the Demographic Dividend in Africa: the Critical Importance of Adolescents and Youth Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights”.
About 1000 participants are expected to attend from around the world, including policy makers, researchers, young people, community leaders and activists working on young people’s sexual and reproductive health and rights issues. This conference will thus, take advantage of the political will and commitment towards the demographic dividend to raise and advocate for rights-based discussions and action for adolescents and youth sexual and reproductive health and rights.
